The small graveyard behind the church contains the remains of many of the local pioneers of the district, the first burial was that of Jesse Gardiner in March 1884, there are approx 90 graves in the graveyard.
The first Church to be built on land given by the settlers was destroyed by fire on 14th April 1950. This was later replaced with the current brick Church which was dedicated as a place of worship for both Anglicans and Protestants on 21st March 1954, as the Community Church of St. Aidan.
