"The Well/Pump House was built early in the period of significance using traditional Japanese carpentry techniques and appears to have been part of the original garden installation. A well was necessary in the years before municipal water was available in the area. In size and method of construction, it is very similar to the Tea Waiting Pavilion. It is located in the service area between the main gardens and the parking lot." (visit link)
