Born in Rundle Street, Adelaide, on Dec. 25, 1872,in 1892 she married Edward Pugh nad came to Western Australia in 1895 and settled at Smith's Mill (now Glen Forrest).. In 1912 the family moved to Bellevue, where she became active in the local Anglican Church as organist, Sunday school teacher and organiser of bazaars. She passed way on March 1st 1953. The plaque is on the gate post at the entrance to the church and reads:-
"A.M.D.G.
In Loving Memory of
Lydia Poole Nichols
Who departed this life 1st March 1953
Aged 80 years
Erected by her family"
