Full dedication - "The Cathedral of St. Mary the Virgin and Saint Ethelbert the King".
The Cathedral is a Grade 1 listed building and dates from as early as 1079.
Its most famous treasures are the Mappa Mundi, a mediaeval map of the world dating from the 13th century and a copy of the Magna Carta dating from 1217.
