The city hall is in the mission style of architecture. There's an ornate entrance to the main building. The greenery in front of the city hall has a lot of grass and trees. The city hall is located on a busy street, 0.5 miles from the main beach.
The city is located along the Pacific Coast (much of which is protected marine reserves) It's in Orange County, and its population in 2010 was 22,723.
The city dates back to the prehistoric period and fossils have been found in Laguna Beach. The city itself was settled in 1870s and officially founded in 1887. Incorporated in 1927 and in 1944 a city-manager form of government was adopted.
The city is known for its surfing and was predominantly feature in the MTV series that bares the city's name.
