The oldest surviving Methodist chapel in New South Wales.

The site was formerly occupied by convict barracks which were demolished in the late 1820's & the bricks used to construct the chapel in 1837. The NSW Government's Environment & Heritage Office (visit link) describes the chapel as:

"Architecturally, the chapel is of state significance as an excellent and highly intact example of an old Colonial Georgian chapel. This example embodies the restrained elegance of the style".

The building is part of an historical walks tour & a plaque describes its convict background.
