Described by the NSW Government's Office of Environment & Heritage as "Bathurst City Uniting Church is of state significance as having the oldest surviving Methodist chapel in New South Wales, architecturally important as a fine Georgian hall, and for its fine Victorian free Gothic church, a building of outstanding merit".
