P is for Powell County - Deer Lodge, MT

Just as we were leaving Deer Lodge and thought we had seen everything it had to offer we noticed this big P. Just had to stop and get a few pix.

Just over 1½ miles northwest of the spot from which we took these photos is the big "P", for Powell County, in which the "P" can be found. The town is Deer Lodge, the county seat, and the location of the photo shoot is the Montana Title & Registration Bureau, on the very north edge of town. The "P" itself is just over 300 feet in height, which explains its visibility from the town 1½ miles away. It appears to be made from a bunch of white painted rocks. Just under the "P" are two smaller letters, but they appear to have suffered from exposure and were unreadable.
Not easy to spot on an overhead shot, it is at 46.421896 -112.759389. This appears to be on private property with cattle grazing nearby, just below an irrigated field.
