This Memorial is one of dozens at San Diego's Liberty Station Park dedicated to boats and men lost during World War II.
The memorial lists 13 boats lost outside of the World War II period.
It starts with USS F-4 (SS-23) lost in 1915 after an explosion with 21 men lost and ending with the USS Scorpion (SSN-589) due to undetermined reasons in 1968 off the Azores with 99 men lost.
