The lych gate was dedicated to the Bishop of Dover to commemorate the millennium.

A small plaque inside the gate is inscribed -

This Lych Gate was dedicated
by the Right Reverend
Stephen Venner, Bishop of Dover
on 21st November 1999,
to commemorate the
Millennium.
