Officer Targosz died April 30, 2006 from injuries suffered the previous evening when he was hit by a drunk driver. That driver sped through a red light, hit several cars and Officer Targosz. The officer had been with the Gilbert Police Department for 12 years. He is survived by his wife, parents, two sisters and a brother.
