[FR] Soucy est une petite commune de l'Yonne. Son existence est mentionnée au VIè siècle sous le nom Sauciacus. Elle appartient alors au diocèse de Sens (seulement à 6.5km). Lors de la guerre de 100 ans (XIVè siècle), le village a été rasé par les Anglais.
Par la suite, sous le règne de François Ier le village fut fortifié, il en subsiste encore quelques trace comme l'église (à voir si vous passer à Soucy! ).
L'hotel de ville est de style néoclassique. Il fut édifié entre 1857 et 1863. Au début, l'horloge et la cloche n'existent pas car elles existent à l'église. En 1878, la foudre détruit le clocher de l'église. La municipalité décide à l'époque de construire une horloge et une cloche.On peut supposer que les travaux ont été inauguré en 1880, date figurant entre l'horloge et la cloche.
[EN]Soucy is a small town in Yonne. Its existence is mentioned in the sixth century under the name Sauciacus. She belongs to the diocese of Sens (only 6.5km). During the 100 years war (XIV century), the village was razed by the English.
Later, during the reign of François I the village was fortified, there are still some traces as the church (to see if you pass Soucy!).
The town hall is neoclassical. It was built between 1857 and 1863. At first, the clock and the bell does not exist because they exist in the church. In 1878, lightning destroyed the church tower. The municipality decided at the time to build a clock and a cloche.On can assume that the work was inaugurated in 1880, set between the clock and the bell.
