This reference mark is located at the summit of North Paulina Peak. The mark can be reached via the Crater Rim Trail and is about a third of a mile north of the trail. The cap is located in a buried boulder about 33 feet SE of PB0789. The cap was set by the U.S. Geological Survey in 1966 and was stamped NO 1.

OF PAULINA LAKE GUARD STATION. ON HIGHEST POINT OF NORTH PAULINA PEAK. TO REACH FROM PAULINA LAKE GUARD STATION, DRIVE 4 MI E. ON PAVED RD. TO RD. N. TO LITTLE CRATER FOREST CAMP. TURN LEFT ABOUT 1 MI N. TO END OF RD. ON EAST SHORE OF PAULINA LAKE. HIKE ABOUT 1 MI ALONG EAST SHORE TO NORTH EDGE OF LAKE. LEAVE TRAIL AND HIKE NNE. UP STEEP SLOPE TO TOP OF HIGH RIDGE. CONTINUE N. THROUGH SMALL SADDLE AND UP ONTO TOP OF CINDER CONE THAT IS HIGHEST POINT OF MOUNTAIN AND STATION. ABOUT A 2-1/2-HOUR PACK.
