USDA Bio Survey 'S24 S25 W 1/16 1934' Section Corner - Modoc County, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Department of Agriculture Biological Survey section corner from 1934 in good condition. It is a bronze cap monumented on a metal pipe surrounded by a concrete post and standing approx. 10 inches above the ground and about six inches NE of a rocky cairn made of lava rock and about 12 feet NW of Clear Lake Rd. This section corner is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4492'. This section corner is not listed in the NGS database. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.
