Wintersmith Park is a 150-acre natural wonder on the east side of Ada. It contains numerous examples of CCC and WPA construction. On the south side of the park is the amphitheater, built in 1934.

Blasted out of the natural ravine, the amphitheater has three sections of 30 rows. The seating is built of native sandstone, with slate caps. The Civilian Conservation Corps built much of the park during a 9 month work project in 1934. The amphitheater took three months to build. It measures 195 and 135 feet, and is slightly curved.

The amphitheater was the site of much entertainment over the years. After decades of natural deterioration, the amphitheater was selected as a restoration project for Oklahoma's Centennial celebration. In 2007, volunteers began the task of picking up debris and rubble, pulling weeds, and the amphitheater seating was restored. This is Item #14 on the District nomination.
