Florence is one of the oldest cities in Arizona. By world standards it is a new town. Since its founding in 1866, it has had several town halls. The current hall is located on the northern edge of the city alongside a new fire department and recreation area. The town hall is typical of architecture in the area, painted a tan stucco color with earth toned accents and recessed windows to avoid the direct sun. This building has allowed the city to centralize all its functions, simplifying administration and providing public convenience.
