Hope Ann was born on 27 September 1895 to the Yadon family in Maynardville, Tennessee. She married Everett Lincoln Maness (1892-1968) who was 3 years her senior, in August 1922. He was a marine in World War I.

Everett and Hope had 2 boys. Everett passed away at 76 years old. Hope continued on until 15 May 1998, well over 102 years old. She is buried next to Everett at Macedonia Cemetery.
