Minnie Cleo was born on 6 October 1908, near Longview Missouri, as the seventh and youngest child of John Wesley and Martha Ellen Spiva. Like another centenarian at this cemetery, she taught at schools all over Newton County, and even taught at Crowder College afterward also.

She married Fred Speak (1904-1988) who was 4 years her senior, and who is buried in a different Newton County cemetery - Mount Zion, which is 3.9 miles north-northwest from this cemetery. They had 2 children. Minnie passed away on 28 January 1988, a few months after her 104th birthday.
