"Friedrich Grosholz wird am 19. Juli 1810 in Weitersborn im Hunsrück geboren. Er erlernt den Beruf des Geometers (Landvermesser) und erhält um 1836 von der Gemeinde Vilbel den Auftrag, die Vilbeler Gemarkung zu vermessen und zu kartieren. In zweiter Ehe heiratet er 1848 Auguste Simon, die Tochter des Vilbeler Gastwirts „Zum Engel“ Isaac Simon. Auf seinem Grundstück betreibt er später eine Nudelfabrik und einen Gemischtwarenladen.
Ab 1875 nutzt er eine auf seinem Anwesen entspringende Mineralquelle und gründet einen Mineralwasservertrieb. So zählt man ihn zu den Gründervätern der Bad Vilbeler Mineralbrunnenbetriebe. Er verkauft das Mineralwasser in Steingutkrügen im damaligen Vilbel und der nahen Umgebung. 1882 übergibt er seinen Betrieb an Carl Heinrich Kullmann aus Schlierbach. Am 17. Januar 1888 stirbt Grosholz unerwartet."
