"Nach zwei kleineren Kapellen wurde im Jahr 1725 die erste St. Nikolaus-Kirche eingeweiht, die 1972 durch die heutige, moderne St. Nikolaus-Kirche abgelöst wurde. Diese vierte Kirche unserer Gemeinde, ist Gotteshaus für heute knapp 3.000 Katholiken.
Der Grundstein zur jetzigen, modernen St. Nikolaus-Kirche wurde 1970 gelegt. Nach zwei Jahren Bauzeit konnten Bischof Volk aus Mainz das neue Gotteshaus einweihen. Zuvor war 1969 die alte Barockkirche St. Nikolaus von 1725 leider abgerissen worden. Die meisten wertvollen Barockfiguren, entstanden um 1720 in der Werkstatt des Mainzer Barockbildhauers Martin Biterich, wurden von der alten Kirche in dem neuen Gotteshaus integriert und bilden ein harmonisches Ensemble von Alt und Neu. Schäden am Bauwerk führten dazu, daß die Kirche 1986 bis 1987 saniert werden mußte. "
