This park was originally part of Frederick Law Olmstead's Front Park design. Over time, parts of the parkland was developed and separated into smaller pieces.

Columbus Park is pretty much a grassy area with trees. There is a statue of Christopher Columbus on the southeast side, facing Porter Avenue. Also, a few benches are around the perimeter.
