In a small grassed island immediately north of the fire station is a brick planter, complete with fire hydrant, built by members of the department in honor of Harold L. Langille, a 50 year member of the Bridgewater Fire Department, 19 years as fire chief. On the street end of the planter is mounted a red granite plaque. Born April 28, 1910 in Bridgewater, Harold passed away October 22, 1993. A Memorial Page for Harold has been created by his family.

Text from the plaque follows, then an excerpt from his obituary.
