The monument with statue of a sleeping lion on its top is dedicated to the dedicated to soldiers, who died in a local military hospital after the Battle of Trutnov which was fought on June 27, 1866, during the Austro-Prussian War. On its top one can find a gilded statue of a snoozing lion.
