The lion statue was donated to Providence Christian Academy by Mr. Rowland's family in memory of Grady and Betty Rowland.

Grady Granville Rowland, age 92 of Rockvale, died Sunday, June 29, 2014. He was a native of Rockvale and a son of the late Eugene and Mattie Hayes Rowland. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Sue Taylor Rowland who died in 1979, a grandson Jeremy Rowland, seven brothers and three sisters.

Mr. Rowland was a member of Jackson Ridge Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. He served in the United States Arm during WWII and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
