Helt tilbage i 1907 vistes der første gang levende billeder i Hammel på biografens daværende placering på Mindevej. Dengang hed biografen kosmorama, men ændrede navn til Fotorama i 1918. I 1929 købte Helbo Rasmussen biografen og han var stadig ejer da Fotorama kunne åbnes på sin nuværende placering i 1952. Hans søn Tom Helbo overtog driften indtil 1993 og biografen er siden da drevet videre af lokale frivillige.
Back in 1907 moving pictures were shown in Hammel in the cinema in Mindegade where it was located then. The name of the Cinema was Kosmorama, but the name was changes into Fotorama in 1918. In 1929 Helbo Rasmussen bought the cinema and he was stil the owner when it moved to it's present location in 1952. His son Tom Helbo ran the cinema until 1993. Since then it has been run by local volunteers.
