This bilingual (English and Welsh) plaque is located in a plaza across a busy street just southwest of Cardiff Millenium Centre.

The plaque reads in English as follows:

"BUTE AVENUE
Cardiff Bay

This plaque was unveiled by
RHODRI MORGAN AMMP

In the presence of Sir Geoffrey Inkin OBE, Chairman on
16*3*2000 to commemorate the start of work on the Avenue in 1999"
