The airport Winnigen is an airport which is placed near Koblenz. It was build in 1970 after the former airport in Koblenz-Karthause has to be abandoned. It is placed above the Mosel-Valley in a beautiful scenic area. Not only motorplanes but also gliders are starting from that airport because they find good thermic conditions at the rocks in the valley.
The airport is also the base of the police helicopter squadron.
Roundflights and charterflights are offered by company having their home at the airport.
