Church dates from 1874 and is situated in what was once a coal mining village. Over many years the mines were closed and miners houses were removed making way to large council and private estates.
The church grounds are railed off and one of the gates is sealed off, the other secured with padlock and chain, no entry to the grounds except for services.
At the rear of the church and in the grounds is a world war one memorial to the men of Worsborough Common who lost their lives in that war. This can be seen from the side road beside the church.
