From the Santiam Pass kiosk near US20, hike northbound 0.3 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail to a wooden wilderness boundary sign. Continue cross-country, E for about 0.4 miles following a posted line, to the marker. There is a NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS sign on the ground next to a U-post which bears ENE, 30" distant.
Angle Points T and U, on the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness boundary, are described in survey CS#91-011. The present Photo Point bears ESE, about 120' distant from the midpoint of a line between them.
The procedures for this survey are described in the narrative and abstracted as follows:
"The Angle Points of the description were field located, nearby control points were set and paneled, and aerial spot photography was obtained."
"Then coordinates were measured by the US Forest Service, Region 6, Photogrammetry Section and converted to Oregon Coordinate System, 1927, North Zone. Once coordinates were established on the paneled Photo Points, a random traverse was run between them with ties taken to the boundary points to be monumented per the description.
