This time capsule was first opened on the 100th Anniversary of the University in 2009.

This time capsule is located in front of the Lanoy Education Building, south of the beautiful Science Hall on the campus of East Central University. The time capsule is located beneath a large pink granite depiction of the State of Oklahoma, which stands on a tile patio, raised three feet from the ground, on an 8-sided brick platform.

On the granite marker are engravings of the Seal of the University dated 1909, and a seal of the Diamond Jubilee in 1984. Wording on the marker reads:

East Central University

Time Capsule Opened on the 100th Anniversary

(bronze plaque) Next Opening 2034

Erected by Student Senate 1984-85
