The wonderful Truman Hanbury & Buxton Co. Pubbuilding is not the home of Fantasia palace, a Greek restaurant in this rapidly-changing Middle-Eastern ethnic area of London.
Founded in 1666, Truman's brewery grew steadily through the centuries. During the 19th century, however, Truman's expanded rapidly by aggressively buying its competitors. In 1873, it was the largest brewer in the world. By 1898 changes on beer tastes among drinkers, competition from imports, and other economic factors led to the brewery closing down.

This is one of many gorgeous and unique old Truman's pubs scattered around the UK. This particular pub building 9and its gargoyles) can be visited at 28 Praed Street in the Paddington district of Westminster, and the "V-shaped" intersection with South Wharf Road.
