"After serving in the Revolutionary War, Jesse Woodard “was appointed by Gov. John Jay to serve as ensign of a company militia under Liuet. Col. Com. Solomon King, in Washington County, where he had gone to live after the war. Later he removed to Summer Hill, Cayuga County, N. Y. where he died March 21, 1844.”"
