Powder illustrates the presence of the Grand Army at Boulogne. Rising facing the sea, on the plateau of the tower Odre, this building crafted in stone in the form of a small rectangular building. Its primary use permit conservation of 120 barrels of gunpowder. The walls are pierced with loopholes ventilation, elements characteristic of the architecture of magazines; these holes were used to fight against humidity which made them unusable powders.

La Poudrière illustre la présence de la Grande Armée à Boulogne. S’élevant face à la mer, sur le plateau de la tour d'Odre, cet édifice confectionné en pierre se présente sous la forme d'une petite construction de plan rectangulaire. Son utilité première permettait la conservation de 120 barils de poudre à canon. Les murs sont percés de meurtrières d'aération, éléments caractéristiques de l'architecture des poudrières ; ces trouées servaient à lutter contre l'humidité qui rendait les poudres inutilisables.
