Celia, whose full name was apparently Cecilia, was born to the Schad family of Barry County on 24 October 1906. At 20 years old she married Oscar G. Saloga (1903-1968) who was 3 years her senior. Her FindAGrave biography states that "Cecelia was a cook for Purdy Schools and Rhea's Diner in Purdy and retired from Sarajo in Pierce City."

Oscar passed away when Celia was almost 62 years old. Celia (or Cecilia) continued on until 16 April 2009, over 102 and a half years old. She is buried next to her husband. The grave marker uses the short form of her name Celia. Perhaps this was her preferred nickname.
