Im Schloßpark von Rotenburg an der Fulda findet sich dieses Denkmal für den Deutsch-Französische Krieg von 1870/71 und die im Felde gebliebenen Söhne des Kreises Rotenburg. Es ist ein Granitobelisk mit einem preußischen Adler mit ausgebreiteten Schwingen auf der Spitze. An der Rückseite findet sich die Jahreszahl der Errichtung: 1895, auf der Frontseite diese Inschrift:
Dem Andenken
der im Feldzuge 1870-71
gebliebenen Söhne
des Kreises ROTENBURG a. d. Fulda
gewidmet.
In the castle park of Rotenburg an der Fulda stands this monument to the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71 and the sons of Rotenburg remaining in field. It is a granite obelisk with a Prussian eagle with outstretched wings at the top. At the back there is the year of the construction: 1895, on the front this (translated) inscription:
