A cool Art-Decotown clock adorns Dorset House, a large stone building on the A3200/Stamford Road built around 1930.
Dorest House SE1 (not to be confused with Dorset House NW1 on the marylebone Road) is located at 27-45 Stamford Street. It is the former headquarters of Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs division.
The clock is mounted perpendicular to the second story face of the building, and is clearly visible from the sidewalk and Stamford Road. Elegantly-decorated black brackets accented with gold paint secure the clock, which is inset into a black octagonal frame, also trimmed with gold paint. The hands are simple and unadorned, pointing to Roam numerals on an ivory-colored face.
Two spotlights on either side of the clock, both framed in the same black octagonal-with-gold-accents frames as the clock, illuminate it at night.
