Held prisoners from 1887-1974. Currently the jail is a museum and the Gonzales Chamber of Commerce. Tour includes the dungeon, the "women and lunatics" cell, and the indoor gallows.

Open Tuesday – Saturday 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The last time the gallows were last used was in 1921 and they were torn down in the 1950s. They stood in the run-around next to the third-floor walkway. The present gallows are an exact reproduction.
