The magnificent fountain that adorns the entrance to the prolongation to the Boulevard Emile Jacqmain is the work of the Belgian surrealist artist Pol Bury. It is comprised of 21 steel cylinders, 2 to 3 m in height, topped by a precariously balanced sphere that oscillates to the movements of the water pouring from the fountain. Two other works by Pol Bury can be admired around Brussels: one on rue de Ligne and the other on the ceiling of the Bourse underground station.
