Gravesite of Lewis R. "Hack" Wilson, born 26 April 1900, died 23 November 1948.

Wilson played 11 years in the Major Leagues, with the New York Giants, Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies.

It was while playing with the Cubs that he achieved his greatest success. In 1930 he hit 56 home runs while batting in 191 (a major league record to this day) while batting .356.

Tragically, alcohol dependence and a penchant for fighting contributed to his early exit from professional baseball, and eventually to his Death in Baltimore at the age of 48.

He was posthumously elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1979.
