This mosaic mural depicts a parchment with a map of the Southwestern United States and Baja California in Mexico with the entire area, then part of Mexico, being shaded in red. A Coat of Arms is depicted for Francisco Garcia Diego who was the first bishop of the Diocese of the Two Californias."Ambas California" means "Both Californias" in Spanish. This entire area was part of Meico at the time.
