"Die St.-Marien-Kapelle an der Einmündung der Ellig- in die Wilhelmstraße in Ahrweiler, auch „Ellig-Kapelle“ genannt, wurde um das Jahr 1850 gebaut. .
Die Ellig-Kapelle wurde um 1850 am gleichem Ort gebaut, an dem zuvor eine Barockkapelle gestanden hatte, die wegen Baufälligkeit abgerissen worden war. Im Jahr 1944 durch Bomben beschädigt, wurde sie schon wenig später von Baurat Schmitz wieder hergerichtet.
