To Americans, the "Full English" breakfast is at the same time tantalizing and horrifying. For one thing, it is GINORMOUS:

2 fried eggs
2 pork sausages
2 triangles of hash browns
1 slice of black pudding (a blood sausage)
2 grilled tomatoes
2 grilled large mushrooms
2 slices of buttered toast
Chips
Baked beans, and
Tea or Coffee

One "Full English" will feed 2 regular Americans. (Keep in mind that in Britain a fried egg is an egg that is FRIED -- as is, submerged in a couple of inches of vegetable oil -- it's not cooked in a skillet with a spritz of oil as in the US.)

All that having been said: The best "Full English" we enjoyed in our 2 weeks in the UK, we had here at Barbarella's. Here's the link to my Yelp review: (visit link)

"Delicious English breakfast in a cool neighborhood spot near Waterloo station in Lambeth.

We literally just landed at Heathrow an hour ago, and since its 6am in London, looks like our first meal will be a traditional English breakfast! A passerby said they breakfast here was good, so we walked in :)

We were immediately spotted for Americans (ha!) and greeted warmly. Staff were very patient explaining the menu, which was hard for us to understand after 9 hours in the air and 6 hours earlier than our bodies thought -- LOL

We ordered the full English and OMG -- one will feed TWO!! 2 eggs, chips, hashbrowns, 4 pork sausages, baked beans, 2 mushrooms 2 broiled tomatoes, 4 pieces of toast and tea.

Being Americans, we had never had a Black Pudding, but the one here was the best we had in 2 weeks in the UK. It wasn't granular or gritty, it WAS well spiced and moist. They source their black pudding locally from the same farm that makes their sausage links, which were delicious with moist filling studded with fresh herbs.

Eggs were perfect, as were the hash browns, broiled mushrooms and broiled tomatoes. We had lovely black currant jam and orange marmalade on our toast. It was a great way to start what would be our first day in London :)
