Monumental Chateau Lednice riding hall, after expensive reconstruction housing Multifunctional Culture Lednice, is one of many Baroque jewels of the UNECSO World heritage site "Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape". The history of the Chateau riding hall in Lednice, the summer residence of the Liechtenstein family, reaches back to the year l687 when prince Johann Adam of Liechtenstein commissioned architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach to construct large stables close to the palace. The ideas of Karl Eusebius were incorporated to the pro]ect of riding hall. Over several years was the project completed by Italian architect Domenico Martinelli, who put the finishing touches on the stables in the spirit of contemporary style.
Karl Eusebius, Prince of Liechtenstein (September 12, 1611 – April 5, 1684) was the Prince of Liechtenstein. He inherited this title in 1627 from his father Karl I. He was 16 and thus considered underage and his uncles Prince Gundakar and Maximillian acted as regents until 1632. From 1639 to 1641 Karl was Chief Captain of High and Low Silesia. After the Thirty Years' War Karl did a meritous job of economically restoring his dominions. Karl was also an extensive patron of architecture of the period. [wiki]
