The fighter aircraft Saab J-35D Draken with the no. 17 was made on 12 January 1965 by Saab factory as a number "35368" for the Swedish Air Force in service. He served here in succession as "F10-24" as well as "F4-68" at the squadrons in Angelholm and Ostersund and completed a total of 1,964 flight hours in Swedish service.
As one of the 24 best preserved J-35D it was subsequently re-acquired by Saab and in 1988, equipped with the Saab factory number "351417" and the code "17" comes on the tail of Austria.
An error in maintenance in 1998 ended its career abruptly due to the fuel was pumped in without opening the tank vents. The resulting vacuum caused an implosion. The damages were so severe that repair was impossible. In 2002 the damaged aircraft was gifted to a mayor of the city Tulln by nearby located Brumowski Air Base.
Since 3 October 2002 the "No.17" is on display at the roundabout onto the Koenigstetter strasse (street) on the outskirts of Tulln.
