Balliang CFA (Country Fire Authority) is a volunteer and community based fire and emergency organisation which attend not only fires , but road accidents and search and rescue missions. As in most small towns the volunteers are from many different occupations from shop keeper, builder or farmer who drop whatever they are doing as soon as they hear the siren and attend the station.
