"The start of the Cazenovia Fire Department dates back as far as
the late 1790’s when our forefathers began fighting fires with
bucket brigades. In May of 1810, the Cazenovia Village Corporation voted to purchase
a fire engine at a cost of $100.00."
"Currently the Cazenovia Fire Department consists of approximately 110 members. This includes; Active, Junior, Honorary and Lifetime Members.
Besides our firefighting and EMS duties, some of our members have specialized training such as; High Angle Rescue/ Repelling, SCUBA Dive Team, Cold Water Rescue, Wild Land Search and Rescue, Firefighter Survival Skills, Vehicle Extrication, and Firefighter Assistance Rescue Operations (FAST)."
