The rest area is along Main Street in Angels Camp. It really just a large parking lot with bathroom. The plaque is located between the men and womens bathroom. There's also a visitors center at the location.

The People of Angels Camp, Calaveras county and the state of California extend to you their warmest welcome. Dedicated to the safety, convenience and comfort of the traveling public, the Angels Camp Roadside Rest Area opened in October 2000. The California Department of Transportation funded the design and construction. The city of Angels Camps provided the land and maintains the facility. Mayor Jack Johnson.
