The Cinesphere, located at Ontario Place, Toronto, is the World's First Permanent IMAX Theatre, dating back to 1971. Designed by architect Eberhard Zeidler the sperhical triodetic dome first played North of Superior on January 1st, 1971, which was the first official IMAX film.

The theatre has been closed for renovations since 2012 along with the rest of Ontario Place.
