The baseball bat is 120 feet tall and weighs 68,000 pounds. It is made of steel. Visitors to the area can take a factory tour and visit the museum to learn about the Official Bat of Major League Baseball – the Louisville Slugger.

The Louisville Slugger baseball bat has been manufactured since 1884 by Louisville manufacturer Hillerich & Bradsby Co.--although it has not always been produced in Louisville! From 1974 to 1996, bat production was moved to a factory in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Hillerich & Bradsby Co. returned to Louisville and opened the factory and museum complex in 1996.
