"A Hill for Looking" is located at the top of the hill as Highway 23 climbs east out of the Pembina River Valley. There is a short dirt access road leading off of the highway, and a rough grass field providing space for parking and expansive views of Pelican and Grass Lakes, the town of Ninette, and the Pembina River Valley about 50 metres below.
The sign for the look-out also bears the name Martha "Paine" Brooks. Martha Brooks is a writer and jazz singer from Ninette. Her parents were medical professionals at the Manitoba Sanatorium in Ninette. They are honoured by an historical marker located at the look-out.
